SOUTH SUDAN: Bishop Reiterates the Principle of Non Violence in Settling Political Disputes

The Auxiliary Bishop of the Catholic Archdiocese of Juba; Rt. Rev. Santo LokuPio, has reiterated the stance of  the Catholic Church on Non Violence for warring parties to settle their issues.
 
Speaking during the centenary celebration for the Congregation of the Daughters of St. Paul on Sunday14 June 2015 in Juba, Bishop Loku said that Christ advises Christians to refrain from violence and be instruments of love.
 
The Bishop observed that the Inter-governmental Authority Development (IGAD) peace initiative and Arusha Sudan’s Peoples Liberation Movement (SPLM) reunification negotiations are not addressing real cause of grievances on governance and failure in service delivery to the citizens.
 
Bishop Loku challenged South Sudanese to tell the truth by confessing that they have taken the lives of the innocent for nothing.
 
He encouraged the Nation to embrace love and peace for all, regardless of ethnic differences.
