SUDAN: Cardinal Zubeir Wako Longs for Innocent, Peace Loving Generation in South Sudan

The Chairman of Sudan Catholic Bishops’ Conference (SCBC) H.E. Cardinal Gabriel Zubeir Wako has made an appeal to the people of south Sudan as he wants to see tranquility is achieved in the country in order to groom innocent, peace loving generation that never experiences war and not traumatized.

Cardinal Wako was speaking to SCBC Secretary General Fr Jacob Odwa who was in Khartoum, Sudan just recently on which the Cardinal told him that his heart is in the country as a South Sudanese; longing for a better solution to peace. He advised the nation to work for peace to engage in development as the common interest opposed to political differences.

Recalling his experience in Khartoum, Sudan; the Secretary-General said that there are many South Sudanese congesting education facilities in Khartoum following conflict outbreak in the country. He said that Khartoum Archdiocese is pressurized to consider establishment of schools for South Sudanese there in order to help thee south Sudanese who are there, due to war at home.

The Secretary-General is expected to visit the United States of America for the first time in mid-February for forty days’ retreat to learn new ideas from overseas.
