Information received from Communication Office of Symposium of Episcopal Conferences of Africa and Madagascar (SECAM) said the Assembly has as its theme: “Animatio Biblica totius actionis pastoralis” that is: “Letting the Bible inspire all pastoral work" which was taken from the Post Synodal Apostolic Exhortation “Verbum Domini” On the Word of God in the life and mission of the Church.
Participants of the Plenary Assembly include Biblical scholars, Bishops, Priests, Religious, Laity, Catechists, and the Youth from within and outside Africa while AMECEA will be represented by Fr Febian Pikiti, Pastoral Coordinator. There will be observers from other Christian Churches in Malawi.
The Assembly is expected to come out with some recommendations and a three-year strategic plan aimed at improving the Biblical Apostolate in the realm of human, social and all pastoral activities on the African continent
It will also be another opportunity to remind all animators and promoters of the Biblical Apostolate that their mission and vocation is to announce and deepen the Good News in the life of people.
It will be recalled that in December 2010 the African continent, through BICAM, was the first continent to organize a seminarafter the publication of Verbum Domini, the Post Synodal Apostolic Exhortation of Synod on the Word of God in the life and mission of the Church.
