“As AMECEA Bishops, we thank God for this appointment, aware of the support which you always gave to our association even when you were in the Diocese of Homa Bay and in Kisumu Archdiocese,” AMECEA Chairman Bishop Charles Sampa Kasonde expressed in his message dated Friday, November 19, when Archbishop Anyolo is officially received in Nairobi adding that, “We look forward to your continued support as I also pledge our collaboration with you.”
Bishop Kasonde who has been at the helm of AMECEA region since 2018 noted that the Archbishop has “added responsibilities” related to the associations’ activities since AMECEA Secretariat and its other institutions are within the Archbishop’s jurisdiction.

“Your Grace, I extend our best wishes to you and pray that the good Lord may continue to give you good health and the strength which you need to faithfully carry out the mission which our Lord Jesus and the Church have entrusted to you in the Archdiocese of Nairobi, and to do it with joy and courage,” the Chairman added on behalf of the Bishops asking for intercessions of Our lady of Africa and St. Joseph upon the Archbishop.
He further thanked His Eminence John Cardinal Njue the predecessor of Archbishop Anyolo, “who has tirelessly served the Archdiocese of Nairobi and AMECEA in different capacities.”
“We shall certainly miss his services and sense of humor. May the Lord continue to bless him with good health as he enjoys his retirement,” Bishop Kasonde said in reference to Cardinal Njue who retired early this year after which Auxiliary Bishop David Kamau Ng’ang’a has been serving as the Apostolic Administrator.”
The Archbishop-elect who has been service in Kisumu Archdiocese since November 2018, will be installed as the Archbishop of Nairobi Metropolitan Saturday, November 20.
