The Catholic University of Eastern Africa (CUEA) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Universite Cote D’azur from France. The MoU was signed on Wednesday October 13, 2021 in Nairobi Kenya at CUEA’s Main Langata campus.
The signing was done by the Rector and Vice Chancellor of CUEA Very Rev. Prof. Stephen Mbugua and his counterpart Jeanick Brisswalter, the President of Universite Cote D’azur with key officials of both institutions and a representative of the French Embassy witnessing the agreement.
Speaking at the event, Mr. Brisswalter, noted that Cote D’azur University was keen to enhance relationship with CUEA.
“Both universities have had a long history of partnership in research work mainly in the area of humanities through research grants and now we can partner more in the areas of Technology, Sciences and even Law,” He said.
The MoU provides for cooperation and exchange in organization of conferences, symposiums and seminars; documentation in specialized programs and information on research studies, Faculty exchanges, research and applied research; student exchange programmes for a period of five (5) years.
On his part the Rector and Vice Chancellor of CUEA, Very Rev. Prof. Stephen Mbugua noted that the signed Memorandum of Understanding would create a new impetus to deepen and scale the collaboration for bigger impact and mutual benefit of both institutions and their stakeholders. He said “We shall work to implement a student exchange programme where students from CUEA can take a semester at Cote Azur University and vice versa within an arrangement of credit transfers”.
