Mansa diocese has celebrated its 60th Jubilee, Saturday 16th October 2021.

In his remarks to mark the jubilee, Bishop Patrick Chisanga said the anniversary can only be given a punch of life if Christians denounce greed and corruption.

Rt. Rev. Chisanga OFM Conv. added that Christians should also do away with other acts that speak against the fruits of the Holy Spirit, which is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, faithfulness and goodness.

Bishop Chisanga has since declared peace and liberty upon all households and Christians bound in various ways.

Meanwhile a representative of the Missionaries of Africa formerly known as White Fathers, Fr Benjamin Itungabose, expressed gratitude to Bishop Chisanga for organising jubilee celebrations that recognized the efforts of missionaries that defied all odds to preach the Gospel to the people of Luapula province where Mansa Diocese is located.

Mansa Diocese is one of the ten Catholic dioceses, including two archdioceses in Zambia.

The Diocese has six deaneries namely Mansa, Samfya, Lubwe, Kabunda, Kashikishi and Kawambwa.

Mansa Diocese was created on 3rd January 1961 as Diocese of Fort Rosebery of the Roman Rite. Before that, it was an Apostolic Prefecture of Fort Rosebery.

Mansa Diocese which has had 5 bishops, was renamed as Diocese of Mansa in 1962.
