AMECEA Executive Capacity Building Training which was held in Addis Ababa Ethiopia for top Management Staff from all the Catholic Dioceses of the Ethiopia Episcopal Conference was a success.
According to AMECEA Capacity Building Project Coordinator, Christine Mbugi, the training which is part of Capacity Building Project of AMECEA in Collaboration with United States Conference of Catholic Bishops (USCCB) was well attended and had splendid participation.

“The participants were enthusiastic to learn and were appreciative of the opportunity to sharpen their skills,” Christine reported adding that the participants expressed that this session they required most as managers of Church institutions and also as agents of evangelization.
The Executive Leadership Training which was the first National Training session, after two successful Executive Bishops training took place from 12th to 16th August, 2013 at the Ethiopian Bishops Conference Centre in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.

- Meaning and Importance of Strategic Pastoral Planning in the Church
- Investments in Church Institutions
Strategic Pastoral Planning- Leadership and Management in Church Institutions
- Social Pastoral Communications
In his concluding speech, AMECEA Secretary General Fr. Ferdinand Lugonzo said that he was full of gratitude to all participants for their active participation and in a special way thanked His Grace Abune Berhaneyesus, President of the Ethiopia Episcopal Conference, for his presence and for the support he gave AMECEA during the preparations for and actual implementation of the training.

He emphasized that the just concluded exercise is a university training, and therefore it is result – oriented. Hence, there should be a follow-up to find out how far the training will be implemented at all levels within the Country. The local Catholic University (Ethiopian Catholic University of St. Thomas Aquinas) will play a great role in this. As the coordinating university, CUEA shall make a periodic evaluation on the impact of the training.
He also thanked the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops (USCCB) for their tireless support from the inception to the implementation stage of this project. He also appreciated those who coordinated the training and all the lecturers from the Catholic University of Eastern Africa (CUEA) for the good work done.
