Following precautionary measures by various countries to stem the spread of Coronavirus including minimal movements, observation of social distance and working remotely, a Kenyan Archbishop has encouraged Religious women to use the opportunity to strengthen community life and deepen their spiritual growth.

“This is the moment when we are meant to grow from the inside. My dear Sisters, during this time let us strengthen the community life, the life of service, love, prayer (and) of enjoying each other’s company,” Archbishop Anthony Muheria said referring to this moment of Coronavirus pandemic when most Religious women are not able to carrying out their ministries in the normal way.

“I urge you all, let us make it a little more joyful. Find ways in which you can add humor to your community life. Good jokes, that means not only the smile but in the singing and the community time together,” the Prelate added.

In a video clip that went viral in social media platforms, Archbishop Muheria also reminded the nuns of their value and ministry in the Church which now they cannot freely perform.

“I know these difficult moments of Coronavirus have greatly inhibited your apostolates. You have been the back-born of the Church; you have been the joy of the Church; you have been many times the hands of the body of Christ to reach out, lift and console many. Right now, you find yourself and your activities curtailed. Nevertheless, keep cheerful, don’t let yourself to be discouraged. This Coronavirus time will come to an end.”
