His Grace Thomas Luke Msusa has challenged Catholic Students on importance of openness  to change. This he said inhis homily during Joint Holy Mass for National Movement for Catholic Students Organization (NMCS), Southern Region Chapter that was held at CUNIMA main campus in Nguludi last Sunday.

Archbishop Msusa urged the students to change for the better and become instruments of evangelizers of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. The Scripture readings of today challenge us to change. Just like Abraham was called to leave his place and go to the promised land, we also should be ready to leave our comfort zones. That is the process of change that is needed,” said the Chancellor and added, “ It is not the temporary physical changes that you make on the bodies that I am talking about but conversion of the heart.”

Archbishop Msusa went on to say, “The Lenten season should help us to take the direction which Jesus Christ is showing us. We should be united. We should love to listen to the Word of God and most importantly we should obey God.”

Concurring with Chancellor, CUNIMA Vice-Chancellor Rev. Dr. George Buleya also urged the students to be proud of the Catholic faith.

“Forge ahead with your  Catholic faith because you belong to a right Church. You are the cream of this nation and the Church. You are no longer leaders of tomorrow but of today,” he said.

The JointHoly Mass at CUNIMA witnessed colleges under NMCS Southern Chapter coming together and to celebrate the Holy Eucharist and interact.

Among those who attended the Mass were students from the Polytechnic, Malawi University of Science and Technology (MUST), College of Medicine, Kamuzu College of Nursing- Blantyre Campus, St Joseph College of Nursing, Malawi College of Accountancy and the host students from CUNIMA.

NMCS is the umbrella body for Catholic Students Organisations (CSO’s) in all the Colleges and Universities in Malawi.

The organization has four Chapters namely, The Southern, Eastern, Central and Northern Chapters.
