He further urged the youth to value education before marriage arguing that any vocation you choose requires good education. “So dear young people, make good use of your time in school. Priesthood, religious life are not for failures in life. Even marriage requires basic education,” he said.
In the same line, Justice Dustain Mwaungulu in his motivation talk implored the youth to consider their life as a great resource for both the Church and society. He therefore asked them to make a good blend of faith and education. Mwaungulu, a recent convert to the catholic faith, told the youth to make a good blend of the practice of faith and education. He particularly mentioned that he has fallen in love with the catholic faith since joining the church a year ago.
Vocations Day, the Fourth Sunday of Easter, is a day set apart for prayer and promotion of various vocations in the Church. On this day the youth had the opportunity to interact with religious people from various congregations working in the Archdiocese of Blantyre. They also listened to a couple on how to choose a right marriage partner and challenges of modern marriages.
Rough estimates indicate that over 51 percent of the Catholic populace in Malawi are the youth. On this day they came from all corners of the Archdiocese and included secondary school and college students, school leavers, young Christian workers and many more youth groups in the Church.
