The associations for religious men and women, in collaboration with the laity and the Catholic Secretariat have organized the celebration that will gather the Christians together to celebrate the Year of Consecrated Life.

“The national celebration will take place in Lilongwe at Maula Parish on the 16th May 2015 under a local theme: “LIVING THE PRESENT WITH PASSION AND EMBRACING THE FUTURE WITH HOPE IN CHRIST,” Archbishop Thomas L. Msusa, Chairman of the Episcopal Conference of Malawi (ECM) said in a statement.
He added, “ECM is therefore inviting all Catholic faithful and people of goodwill to come in large numbers and attend the Eucharistic Mass Celebration which will start at 8:30 am”.
On the Feast of the Presentation of the Blessed Virgin Mary, 21 November 2014, the Holy Father announced that beginning from 30 November 24 until 2 February 2016 is the year for the men and women in consecrated life to remember their histories, and for the entire Church to giving thanks to God for the charisms of founders of Congregations and for the service of sisters, brothers, priests and nuns in the world. Pope Francis also appealed to the young Catholics to consider religious vocation.
