TANZANIA: Diocese of Shinyanga Set for the Installation of a New Shepherd

Msgr Liberatus Sangu
The Catholic Diocese of Shinyanga on Sunday 12th April 2015 will get an Ordinary of the diocese after the ordination of Bishop elect Msgr Liberatus Sangu at the Cathedral of Our Lady of Consolation, Ngokolo in Shinyanga.
 
Information received from Shinyanga stated that all necessary preparations have been done and the diocese has been expecting to receive about 200 guests coming from different parts of the country and abroad. 
 
Bishop - elect Liberatus Sangu was appointed by the Holy Father, Pope Francis on 2nd February 2015. Until his appointment, the Bishop-elect was an official of the Congregation for the Evangelization of Peoples at the Vatican. 
 
The Bishop-elect hails from Sumbawanga, Tanzania and was ordained a Priest on July 9, 1994 in Sumbawanga. He was born on February 19, 1963 at Mwazye, Diocese of Sumbawanga. After his primary and secondary education in local schools, he studied philosophy at Kibosho Major Seminary, Moshi and theology at St. Charles Lwanga Segerea Seminary, in Dar-es-Salaam. He went for further studies in Rome where he studied Sacramental Theology at St. Anselm Pontifical Athenaeum.
