Bishop Kakooza expressed gratitude to his predecessor Rt. Rev. Bishop Matthias Ssekamanya whom he said was his teacher in Spiritual Theology at the seminary. “When he was appointed Auxiliary bishop of Kampala, we met again when I was appointed Vicar general of His Eminence Emmanuel Cardinal Wamala and we worked together,” he said.
“As I am succeeding him, I am grateful and thank him for tremendous work he has done in the diocese of Lugazi. He has built a new Cathedral, the Bishop’s house, an administration block and most importantly, he has built Christianity in the hearts of the people based on the word of God.”
