ACWECA Secretary General
The ACWECA President, Rev. Sr. Mary Cecilia Njeri, announced the appointment of Rev. Sr. Bridgita Samba, a member of the Sisters of St. Joseph of the Catholic Archdiocese of Mombasa as the new secretary general with effect from Monday 22nd November, 2021.
The announcement was made on Wednesday, 17th November, 2021, at the ACWECA Secretariat.
Before her appointment, Sister Bridgita served in various capacities within and out of her Congregation. She served as a member of the General Council of her institution for six years. She also worked as Public Relations Officer of Mwenge Catholic University (MWECAU) in Moshi, Tanzania. Sr. Bridgita also worked for the Justice and Peace Commission of the Association of Sisterhoods of Kenya (AOSK-JPC).
She replaces Sr. Hellen Bandiho a member of the Sisters of St. Theresa of the Child Jesus from Bukoba, Tanzania, who served the Association for two years and was on 12th October, 2021, elected as Superior General of her Congregation.
The ACWECA President thanked Sr. Bridgita for accepting the appointment. She also thanked her Superior General, Sr. Jane Awuor for allowing her to work for the Association as Secretary General.
“We have every reason to rejoice and congratulate the new Secretary General as she assumes this demanding but noble ministry in the Catholic Church. We wish her God’s abundant blessings,” Sr. Cecilia happily said.
Sr. Mary Cecelia Njeri assured her of her support and prayers as she takes up the new challenge.
