Bishop emeritus of Torit Catholic Diocese Rt. Rev. Paride Taban has on 24 October 2021 appealed to Christians to be strong and have faith for peace to prevail in the Republic of South Sudan.

The Bishop Emeritus urged Christians in Nalingaro Parish in Kapoeta to strengthen their faith for peace to win throughout the State and the country at large.

Rt. Rev. Taban also said that peace can only be achieved if the youth and children are engaged, adding that as they celebrate 100 years of Centenary, Christians should be close to God and  work very hard so that God may grant them peace in their life and the country.

He stressed  that one can overcome the obstacles or attacks only through faith in God.

He explained that he has seen some Christians putting more effort in their life to pray as most elders are going to church, which means there are people of faith.

“Just visit villages in Toposa you will find that there are people always praying. Now if you go to the villages, every one love prayers, that means there are people of faith. If you have faith, even if someone poisoned you through food, you will not die.”

He also thanked the faithful who introduced Christianity in the world which has made people to live in faith; because human beings survive through God’s grace.

“We are surviving because of God who created us in his image, we thank God and those who introduced us to Christianity. This faith united us as brothers and sisters, and we need to stay in happiness with our children”.

Nalingaro parish in Kapoeta of Torit celebrated its one hundred (100) years of faith on 24 of October 2021 and over thousands of believers turned up for the celebration.
