Two Catholic Nuns of the Sacramentine Sisters Congregation from Ntcheu Parish, Dedza Diocese have died after their car they were travelling in, collided with a minibus which was coming from the opposite direction, some few kilometers from the city of Lilongwe on 4th September 2014.

Information received from Malawi said that the deceased Nuns have been identified as Sister Magreta Raveli aged 65 and Sister Anna Marie Kwidoti, 68 both Italian by nationality. The accident also left another Nun critically injured, admitted at Lilongwe Central Hospital.

Speaking at Kamusi Central Hospital in Lilongwe where he led in a prayer for the departed nuns before their bodies were transferred to Ntcheu, the Archbishop of Lilongwe Most Rev. Tarcisio Ziyaye said that the sudden death of the two nuns is shocking and a great loss to the Catholic Church in Malawi.
