The Zambia Episcopal Conference (ZEC) has expressed gratitude to the Consecrated Women in Eastern and Central Africa (ACWECA) for the tremendous work which they are doing in the region.
speaking when he celebrated mass at the 16th ACWECA general assembly at Andrews’s motel in Lusaka yesterday, archbishop of Lusaka, Telesphore Mpundu who is also ZEC president said the charity works which the sisters are doing silently is unmatched.
Archbishop Mpundu reiterated that the church would not be where it is without the religious women. He commended the consecrated women for serving gods’ people in hard to reach places.
The Archbishop observed that many times, the sisters are not appreciated for the work they were doing.
He encouraged them to continue working hard despite the challenges and assured them of all the support from the clergy and the laity.
About 200 religious sisters are meeting from the ACWECA Region which comprises of nine countries in Eastern and Central Africa at Andrews Motel for two weeks.
