The spokesperson of South Sudan’s Ministry of Health Dr Thuou Loi has disclosed that the country lacks isolation centres to accommodate Coronavirus patients.

Dr Loi said that currently, patients are still being quarantined in their own homes as Government looks for ways to increase the number of public isolation centres.

He explained that few people have been admitted at Dr John Garang Infectious Disease Unit but it’s not enough as the number of confirmed cases keeps rising.

According to Dr. Loi, as the week begun only three patients were in government facility and the rest are at their homes.

The spokesperson has stressed that public health centres are under renovation and soon all patients will be kept in one place for observation.

South Sudan has 35 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in the country.
