Catholic Bishop of the Diocese of Yei, Rt. Rev. Erkolano Lodu Tombe, has emphasized the need for all Christians to be careful with the issue of Coronavirus in the country, despite the fact that South Sudan has not confirmed any positive case.
He urges all citizens to avoid carelessness as some neighboring countries including Uganda have announced confirmed Coronavirus cases.
Bishop Lodu explained that Coronavirus is a disease which can affect any person, more especially through contact.
He has therefore advised all citizens in South Sudan to take seriously the instructions given to them by Government and Church leaders because they are important for the health of all individuals.
Bishop Lodu acknowledged that sometimes natural disasters and situations like this can cause fear and panic in the minds and hearts of the people. However, he encourages the faithful to take care of one another, of their families and communities, trusting in God who is in charge and protects His people.
The Catholic prelate was giving his message to the Christians at Christ the King Cathedral on Sunday March 24 in the Diocese of Yei.
