Members of Catholic Women Organisation (CWO) in Malawi are holding their national Annual General Meeting (AGM) at DMI University main campus from Thursday to Sunday in the Diocese of Mangochi.

This year’s CWO indaba has challenged women to live righteously as per the theme Catholic Women Called to sanctify The World, For Holistic Development.

Officially opening the AGM, Bishop Montfort Stima of the Diocese of Mangochi who is also Vice Chairperson for ECM’s Pastoral Commission urged women to answer God’s call to holiness.

Bishop Stima who was joined by the Bishop Chairperson of the Pastoral Commission in Malawi Rt. Rev. Peter Musikuwa during the Eucharist celebration advised women to be agents of peace, justice and to have love for the poor in the country.

He also challenged the CWO members to use the social media properly saying the platform should be an instrument to bring salvation to people and not enticing them to sin against the will of God.

National Chaplain for the laity, Father Vincent Mwakhwawa commended the works of CWO in Malawi in all the eight dioceses.

Fr Mwakhwawa then said that Church is to continue supporting the CWO in its activities.
