The newly installed Archbishop of the Catholic Archdiocese of Mwanza Most Rev. Renatus Nkwande has said that it is time now for the country to fight for freedom from ideological colonialism which operates through the umbrella of homosexuality and abortion as he reminded Religious leaders of their duty to teach and serve their people physically and spiritually.
He pointed this out as he gave a word of thanks immediately after the celebration of the Holy Mass of his installation as Archbishop of Mwanza, where he noted that the country is facing ideological colonialism and that the Government is unable to control the institutions involved in sponsoring abortion practices.
“There are institutions that encourage abortion, they even provide materials that help the activity. It is time to fight for freedom from these ideas and practices” said Bishop Nkwande.
Bishop Nkwande further noted that abortions are destroying more people than acts of terrorism as he advised Tanzanians to reject the sexist colonial ideologies.
Speaking on the same occasion the Prime Minister of the United Republic of Tanzania Kassim Majaliwa has stressed that it is necessary to unite efforts between Government and various religions in serving the people.
He congratulated the Catholic Church for being focused on serving Tanzanians in various social services saying that such services are offered without discrimination, thus helping the Government to serve the communities.
“Religious faith and human development are not separable,” he added.
