The permit, which AMECEA Online News has seen, indicates that the TCRA in accordance with Regulation Number 7 of the Electronic and Postal Communications Licensing Regulations has granted Tabora Archdiocese a Construction Permit for a duration of one year effective from 7thJanuary, 2019.
Speaking to AMECEA Online News Rev. Fr. Thomas Mambo, the Communications Coordinator for the Archdiocese said that for a long time, the Archdiocese has longed to have its own radio for evangelisation throughout Tabora Region in order to reach as many people as possible.
“With the permit for construction and frequency for broadcasting we are planning and are hopeful that the radio station will commence broadcasting by early 2020,” he said adding that the Archbishop of Tabora Most. Rev Paul Ruzoka has urged the faithful to fully support the project by participating in whichever way they can.
He further indicated that the Archdiocese is also seeking financial support from partners abroad for purchase of equipment such as transmitters and construction of transmission tower.
The total cost of the project is estimated at US $ 300,000 which is equivalent to 700 million Tanzanian shillings.
