Rt. Rev Santo Loku Pio |
The Auxiliary Bishop of the Archdiocese of Juba Rt. Rev Santo Loku Pio has warned the society on using weapons to advocate Peace in the country.
Delivering a homily at St Theresa’s Cathedral Kator in Juba on Sunday 16th March 2014 Bishop Santo Loku Pio said people who advocate for peace should come to South Sudan without guns.
He criticized that the Inter-Governmental Authority on Development’s (IGAD) resolution to deploy forces to South Sudan would worsen the situation of the already existing guns in the country.
Bishop Loku urged South Sudanese leaders to change and use the country’s resources for development rather than for importing more weapons.
The Auxiliary Bishop called on South Sudanese leaders to take care of their people instead of inviting other bodies.
He pointed out that the United Nations failed to bring peace in many parts of the world. He called for on ruling party to change from SPLM (FULL) to new name that brings all South Sudanese together.
