Rt. Rev Desderius Rwoma |
The Bishop of Catholic Diocese of Bukoba, Rt. Rev Desderius Rwoma has pointed out that marriage and divorce are issues that have lost proper interpretations to the most of catholic youth, hence pose challenges in marriage life.
Bishop Rwoma also underlined the importance of marriage preparation courses saying that couples must truly understand and have faith in a Christian marriage, by putting forward a Catholic Values and explain why and how marriages can work, flourish and be fruitful over the long haul.
He emphasized that preparations towards the sacrament of marriage has lost its vision whereby many couples tend to put an emphasis on weddings celebration and related matters rather than spiritual preparations.
"In our Church today, we can vividly see a reasonable number of lay people who are getting married. But the point that demands an attention is not just getting married but rather is how can they stay together forever. It is becoming common in the society to find couples living together without getting married in the church. This is wrong,” he said adding "Couples who choose to live together without getting married in the Church are committing sin."
He has alluded other challenges facing young people who are preparing for marriage that they must attend courses on marriage preparation since marriage as a sacrament requires lengthy preparation.
He encouraged young people to seek the advice from parents and priests for them to have a deeper understanding of marriage as a Sacrament and how they can make the marriage lifelong and successful.
