The Catholic University of Eastern Africa (CUEA) and the Centre for International Private Enterprise CIPE(www.cipe.org), a US based non-profit organization, announced a new course that will help secular Business Management Organizations (BMOs), non-profit social service providers, and faith-based civil society organizations to become self-sustaining and independent of foreign donor support in the face of shrinking donor funding.

The announcement was made during a reception for Civil Society Organizations (CSO) leaders and donors in Nairobi on Thursday December 8.

The training, which will provide CSO managers with unique, innovative tools to develop local funding to ensure their long-term, sustainable success, responds to the challenge by H.E. Berhaneyesus Cardinal Souraphiel, CUEA’s chancellor and Chairman of AMECEA, that “We cannot have truly African institutions until Africans are supporting themselves.”

Designed for Business Management Organizations (BMO), Faith Based Organizations (FBO), and other civil society leaders, managers, and volunteers, the course will include a certification of competence. The first class will begin in February 2017.
