According to Mr. Sam Oando, from the Research Department at the University, the project “Transforming Girls Education in a Violence Free Environment” seeks to understand and address the root causes and consequences of violence against girls, and its impact on the enjoyment of their rights to and in education.
Discussing the Child Protection Policy that is based on the UN Convention on Rights of the Child Principals, Ms. Joan Marende, National Project Manger, Actionaid International Kenya, observed that forms of child abuse and exploitation include: emotional, physical, social, sexual and neglect.
